December Studio Tour

We just finished taking part in the Bainbridge Island Studio Tour this past weekend, December 3-5, 2021.  Our location was in an amazing yurt in the Sacred Groves forest sanctuary.  It was beautiful, filled with positive energy and creativity.  The neighboring community was kind and generous.  We had a fantastic turnout and ultimately a fantastic show.  We’re hoping to arrange our schedule in order to do another show in Hansville, WA on December 18, 2021.  We will keep you posted.  Wishing you all a joyful holiday season.  Stay safe and take care.

Regrouping 2021

As you can see – our last post was January 2020 and we had high hopes for creating jewelry and sharing those creations with others.  However, 2020 didn’t evolve as expected.  As we all know, Covid came into everyone’s lives and altered our Universes.  We’re now vaccinated, “boostered” and are trying to get a bit of normal back.  Richard did the Poulsbo Art Show in August 2021 – we’ve done that show many times and this time was the best one ever.  I think everyone was happy to be out and about and the mood was positive.  We’re doing another show the first weekend in December, the Bainbridge Island Studio Tour.  Those dates are December 3-5, 2021.  We’re hoping for a good turnout.  Richard took part in a very cool lapidary class at the B.A.R.N. on Bainbridge Island this summer.  He has some silver classes coming up.  We’re wishing the best to you and yours.  Take care.

The Upcoming Year – 2020

As it was in 2018, 2019 was also a much quieter year for us regarding taking part in art shows.  We did only two or three shows.  Richard’s plans to begin his silversmithing designs did not take place as he was still involved in part time job scenarios and other issues.  But, we’re hopeful that in 2020 he can begin designing his jewelry using silver along with the semi-precious stones and carved bone.  We believe the new designs will be very nice.  We’re looking forward to positive times this year and hope to take part in a few shows.  Meanwhile we’re also considering putting his jewelry online at the Amazon Crafters location.  Take care and here’s to a good 2020!!

Plans for 2019

Hello Everyone.  2018 has been a slower year for us regarding shows.  Richard is working a part-time job and thus decided to take part in just four shows this year, which by the way, have already occurred.  In 2019 Richard will still be designing his beautiful jewelry but will be incorporating silversmithing into those designs.  We believe the end results will be very nice.  Looking forward to next year, and also seeing you at more shows.

Salem Art Fair and Festival

We participated in the 3-day Salem Art Show on July 15-17, 2016.  It was a great show for us.  Richard’s jewelry was well received, complimented and we had lots of customers.  Such a fun time for us and a really good feeling.  It’s very rewarding to have a positive reception – it makes all the hard work worth it.  We’re looking forward to the rest of the shows this year.  Come see us!

Richard’s Cholla Cactus Bolos

Richard makes very unusual bolo tie necklaces using the dried cholla cactus plant.  When the plant is alive it is something to avoid because the thorns are like fishing hooks, and if they get under your skin – watch out – they hurt.  But, once dried they become a very interesting item.  Richard turns them into art objects by cutting a particular piece of cholla he finds intriguing then he grinds, molds, inlays with certain semi-precious stones thus creating a very beautiful and unique piece of art/jewelry.  It’s always fascinating to see what Richard creates.

2016 Beginnings

Hi everyone.  We’re still busy applying to shows – we will post all dates and information once we know what shows we’re participating in.  The Artfest Spokane show  on June 3-5, 2016 of this year is a confirmed event.  Richard was first place in the beaded jewelry category last year.  It was very exciting to win that award.  Anyway, we hope everyone is doing well and having a good beginning to this year.  We look forward to seeing you at our booth in the upcoming months.
