Excitement at 2015 Artfest Spokane

We participated in the 2015 Artfest Spokane show on May 29-31.  It was a great show in a beautiful location – Coeur D’Alene Park (in Spokane), Browne’s Addition.  There were around 150 booths, all with very nice art.  The promoters were extremely well organized and seemed to really care that the artists were happy and comfortable.  There was excellent entertainment – lots of fun to be had by all.  And, the most exciting part – !!! – Richard won the award for best beaded jewelry!!!  With that honor, we have guaranteed participation in the 2016 show.  We’ll be looking forward to doing that show again, and hope to see you there.

Tucson Gem & Mineral Show

Recently we took a trip down to Tucson, Arizona to attend the Tucson Gem & Mineral Show.  It is an overwhelming experience to view all the incredible stones that this earth can produce – fantastic colors, sizes and pieces from all over the world.  Richard picked up some amazing new cabachons that he plans to use in his jewelry.  One of our newest additions is an unusual stone casually called “Bumblebee Agate” originating from Indonesia.  It has a lovely yellow color with trims of gray and white.  Very unique.  We also picked up a “flat lap” machine to use in preparing stones for buckles.  Lots of fun and interesting new ideas.

Upcoming 2015 Season

We are busy applying to participate in shows for the upcoming 2015 art/craft show season.  It should be a good year and we are looking forward to it.  We hope to see many of our friends at the shows.  Richard is developing new ideas and working to locate some new and interesting semi-precious stones to use in his styles.  He is also hoping to expand his cholla cactus bolo line, as well as introducing a new line of buckles set with agate.  Come and see us at the shows!
